I had flown several times on the A350's from Hamburg to Manila and Vietnam, The plane is basically a flying ship and the seats are uncomfortable, We had to buy pillows to lay down on the seat on our way back to Houston. We had flew Qatar B787 several times and you can tell the difference on the internal air quality of the B787 is far more comfortable than the A350, The flight was way more silent than the A350, The plane provided far more room for the seats and we could lay down properly, The B787 Is worth it on all the travels

I just started working at IAH 2 months ago, literally 4 days after a 737 ran off the runway. I got to see it in the hangar while they were working on it so that was cool.

The manufacturers owned by UK and French Government simply gave Air France and British Airways 7 planes each when the airlines were owned by the respective governments. You also have Sukoi in Russia doing the same thing a Russian Government company supplying planes to Aeroflot, Siberian S7 and Rossiya. (Sure now thanks to sanctions they are not available) and that's another red line for Comac since the US Government isn't likely to sanction Boeing and Airbus has an internal market within the EU 🇪🇺 and neighbours. Would I fly on a Comac YES. Air travel is generally safe. Until something goes catastrophically wrong. That can happen to any aircraft type. My first flight was on a Aeroflot Soviet Airlines Illuysin very much an aircraft of it's era. I think what holds airlines back from buying certain aircraft is the same as any other transport fleet management (buses, lorries, taxi fleets, railway locomotives and units) you want a fleet that engineers are familiar with and that parts are easily available. I worked for a small family bus operator we always bought the vehicle types on the second hand market or from leasing that the larger bus operators locally had. Our in house maintenance was limited and major work was contracted out to the manufacturers or larger bus companies engineers. So if I was say a small short haul/holiday charter airline would I lease a Comac? Answer no. I'd go with Airbus or Boeing as components would be easier to come by and engineers to fit them.

For it to be viable it works also need to be serviceable at various bases and have a supply of pilots who carry that type rating.

I flew on a brand new 777 with British air to Singapore and while walking to economy I saw both first and business class as they looked amazing so it’s weird they wouldn’t do that with their 787s

china is learning from how the West reacted to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. the hard truth is that they solely depend on Western aircraft to service their domestic market. any disagreement on their foreign policy with the West could make them end up like Russia. this is why they sped up the development of C919 but what they are significantly behind is the development of aircraft engines.

Comac is not meant to replace Airbus or Boeing.... China will need 10,000 planes by 2050.. The local market is big enough.

Flew on Lufthansa’s A340 between London Heathrow to Kansai, Osaka Japan. It was a very comfortable flight.
